August 20th and 21st Events!

Once again, Lillstreet Art Center is hosting the Third Lillstreet International Bowl Me Over Show. Each year the theme of the show changes and this year the focus is functional ceramic bowls. Lillstreet Art Center is located at the north end of Chicago. This bowl, created by NOC"s own Theresa Yondo, was accepted into the show and fortunately if you can't make it to the show you still can view the show online. Lillstreet is located at 4401 N. The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve reminds you of this last-minute chance to purchase your tickets for the Color Me Cleveland Gala to be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 beginning at 5:30 pm. The Gala features a live art auction of over 80 works of art. Join us for an elegant evening of great food, fine art, entertainment, and new and old friends. Michelle Marie Murphy and Baptiste Lefevbre (aka Cetusss from Switzerland) curated an exhibition in an alternative space downtown CLE. There are 20 artists and collectives represented in this exhibition, 14 of them are from Cleveland. The show sounds really exciting and will include a wide range of work including performance, video, sculpture, and 2D.

Every first Saturday, thousands of visitors converge on the strip to see new art exhibits and add to their growing collections. With dozens of galleries and non-traditional exhibit spaces, it’s Columbus’ favorite night of the month to celebrate art. Though many shops are open earlier, the Gallery Hop officially starts at 4PM and runs to 10PM with restaurants and bars staying open considerably later.

Lakewood Arts fest: noon – 6PM…. pARTy: noon – 8PM Lakewood’s venerable art fest is back with more than 160 artists. Stroll along Detroit Ave., take in the arts community and see people that you know at this popular summer festival. Need a break from the sun? Join the pARTy under the tent at Belle Ave. to cool off in shade, have a bite to eat, and listen to music. The Pop Shop Gallery / (art)ificial Gallery 17020 Madison Ave. Lakewood, OH Saturday 6:00pm - 8:30pm Cinematic Redux is a collection of contemporary works by artists across the U.S. presenting their interpretation of posters for classic films. The wide array of styles shows your favorite movies, like you have never seen them before. Cinematic Redux will open Saturday, August 7th 2010 in (art)ificial Gallery. An adult after party will be held at Mullen’s (located next to the gallery) for all guests of the artists and gallery.

The Artists Archives of the Western Reserve would like to remind everyone that this weekend all over Cleveland local artists will be creating fabulous works of art! At Westside Market, the Free Stamp, the Warehouse District, E. 4th Street, Progressive Fields, Edgewater Park, Wade Oval and Wendy Park at least two artists will be creating. Be sure to go see them work and support the AAWR.

Skutt KM 1227 & Paragon DTC 1000 28" Programmable Electric Kilns. Both kilns
were working when removed from studio and have been in storage for several
years. Both need new elements a few bricks could be replaced but not
necessary for use.  I am only selling them because I am switching over to
designing furniture full time. The kilns need a little work and you will be
up and running for pennies on the dollar compared to new kilns!
