Ingenuity, the Cleveland Festival of Art & Technology, materializes in yet
another location Fri 9/14
through Sun 9/16 at docks 32 and
30 north of Cleveland Browns Stadium and the Great Lakes Science Center on the
lakefront. Showcasing an area
rarely open to the public, the festival offers a preview of the lakefront
development the city announced earlier this year. Exhibits, performances,
installations and lectures will occupy more than 120,000 square feet in two
warehouses as well as outdoor lakefront space. Part of Ingenuity’s intention is to change locations, thus
energizing often-ignored areas and structures while inspiring creativity at the
intersection of arts, science and technology. The festival blurs the lines
between art and the city and steps through the boundaries separating artists
and innovators from their audience. Join

Opening Reception: 8-11 PM, Cleveland SGS' Ontario Gold honors the dividing line
of Cleveland's down-low and up-high cultures; it is a two-tone collection of
images that explore the balance between inspiration and alienation. The exhibit’s
namesake, Ontario Street, can be viewed as the epicenter of the city’s rebirth
or simply as a street people cross to get to Tower City. To the golden
illuminations erected by casino magnates, it stands as a prism that tempers the
dreams of the foolhardy and inspires children to strive for excellence.
Cleveland SGS is both rare and nonreactive, Ontario Gold is the manifestation of these two most essential
attributes. SGS produces video, paintings, installations and signage deeply
entwined with the city's pulse. An

Modeling the Human Head
Don’t miss this
rare opportunity to join Cleveland Arts Prize winner Brinsley Tyrrell as he
creates a life size head in clay using a live model. During this
two hour demonstration Brinsley will discuss his modeling technique, his
aesthetic approach, and his background and philosophy in the arts. He
will also show images of his latest ceramic sculptures – revealed to the public
for the first time.

Class begins Wednesday September 19th and runs for 6 weeks ending on
October 24th. There will be another session immediately following this
class which will begin on October 31st for 6 weeks. Class fee is $150.00 for 15 hours of class time. Class time is anytime during the hours
of 6-9 on Wednesday evening. Beautiful
white stoneware clay is now available. We also still have a few boxes of
