Position Title: Assistant Professor, Ceramics
Position Type: 9-month, tenure track
Description: teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ceramics, assist in supervising the ceramics area, and mentor and advise students. Develop/maintain a national profile as a ceramic artist. Serve on faculty committees (Department, College and University) as well as professional and community organizations. Work in a collegial manner with fellow faculty, staff members, students, and administrators.
Qualifications: M.F.A. degree in Art required, college-level teaching experience preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a broad knowledge of ceramic art and its processes and be able to discuss contemporary and historical issues in an articulate and informed manner. Preference will be given to individuals with a strong record of exhibitions and other creative or professional achievements and demonstrable college teaching effectiveness.

Assistant Professor of Practice, Ceramics, non- tenure track. One-year full-time appointment, with the option of a second year. M.F.A. degree in Art required, college-level teaching experience preferred. Ability to teach undergraduate courses in ceramics, assist in supervising ceramics program, mentor and advise students. An ability to teach entry-level university courses in a second area (such as Graphic Design, Drawing, or Freshman Foundation) is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to serve on faculty committees, professional and community organizations, and work in a collegial manner with faculty, staff, students and administration.
