Excerpts from Silver Meadows includes new work from internationally renowned photographer Todd Hido. Excerpts is ”cinematic in scope,” a “darkly dramatic glimpse into a world that reflects both the alienation and dislocation in contemporary society and the inspiration of noir film and literature.” The artist will be there to sign copies of his new monograph. Also check out the Todd Hido gallery talk on Sat 5/25 @ 3pm…. or go a day ahead of the public opening on Thu 5/23 and be a part of the exclusive preview party and dinner w/ Todd Hido.

Cleveland Print Room (in Artcraft Building), 2550 Superior Ave, Suite 102, Cleveland, 216.401.5981 Here comes the Crusade. Jennifer Schwartz’s “Crusade for Collecting” will be stopping at the Root Cafe and the Cleveland Print Room as part of her “Crusade for Art” nationwide tour. According to her website, “The Crusade for Collecting is a passion project for supporting art and artists. The Crusade’s mission is to cultivate a new crop of art lovers, patrons and collectors by encouraging people to engage with art in exciting and innovative ways.” She hopes to start a discussion about the value of art. On Sun 5/26 @ 1pm she’ll drive her 1977 Volkswagen Bus, affectionately known as “Lady Blue,” to the Root Cafe where she’ll be sharing the photographic work of area photographers Donald Black, Jr., Stephanie Mercer, Angelo Merendino, Dan Morgan, and Julia Van Wagenen. Then, on Mon 5/27 @ noon, Schwartz will give a Gallery Talk @ the Cleveland Print Room discussing her Crusade and the ways individual artists can use the same ideas to build awareness for their work. http://CrusadeForArt.com

Spring is finally teasing us with a bit of warm weather and a promise of summer to return.This summer there will be two 4 week sessions offered on Tuesday evenings. We will return to Wednesday evenings in the fall.
Any group of 4 or more wishing to take class at another time is encouraged to contact me to make arrangements. The schedule for Tuesday evenings is as follows; June 4th-25th 6:30-9:00 and
July 9th-30th 6:30-9:00. It is O.K. to come a bit early if 6-8:30 is a better time for you. You will need to make arrangements ahead of time for this!
Each 4 week session will cost $100.00. After summer session, classes will resume in September. Materials and activities include white stoneware clay and several glazes. Handbuilding and wheel throwing with the clay. And, various tools to work with. Anyone wishing to mop floors, recycle clay and clean tools wheels etc… for additional studio time is encouraged to call me at 440-338-6219. Please leave a message as my hands are often covered in clay and I cannot pick up the phone immediately. If home I will return your call within a few minutes.
