Fred Gearhart Home and Studio, 1609 Rydalmount Rd., Cleveland Hts.,  “Open Studio and Sculpture Garden.”  Both Days 1-7pm. You’ve probably seen sculptor Fred Gearhart’s work around town at places such as the Hartshorn Gallery in Tremont where his stone works adorn the back patio. That work also adorns his backyard in Cleveland Heights, where the pieces — in stone, metal and wood, both figurative and abstract — are scattered within the beautifully landscaped area.  For 11 years now, he has opened his yard and the garage that serves as his workshop to visitors for his annual open house. You’ll find more than 150 sculptures of all sizes set among the plants and walkways. They’re all for sale, and most are priced affordable. He’ll be glad show you his studio and talk with you about how he creates the pieces and the issues involved in each of the materials he works in.  (Image Above)
