On Saturday March 23rd from 12pm - 5pm.   Allen Kradlak of AKStudios is hosting an empty bowls throw-a-thon to benefit the local food pantries. This will be a fun session of creating thrown and altered stoneware bowls which will be glazed and fired by volunteers at AKstudios. The studio has 8 Wheels and plenty of room to facilitate all of the activities. All Materials are to be provided along with snacks and beverages. Anyone who is interested in participating should contact Allen to sign up. Once the bowls are finished they will be donated to the empty bowls event, hosted by the Berea Kiwanis at Berea High school. Of course, if you are unable to attend, donations of finished bowls would also be welcome and can be dropped off at the studio. The proceeds from this event help fund programs and provide resources to Church Street Ministries, Berea Welfare and SCAN. Anyone willing to help is welcome to attend.  When:     Saturday, March 23rd 12pm -5pm

The Empty Bowls Project is a nationwide effort by potters to end hunger. The Berea Kiwanis is proud to host this 4th annual event to benefit our local hunger-fighting organizations.  
River Gallery,19046 Old Detroit Road, Rocky River 44116 440 331-8406, www.rivergalleryarts.com  “DOGS!  An exhibit  featuring the Dog themed artwork of James Ruby, portraits and Sharon Sheinbart, sculpture.”  Opening 3-7pm.  This exhibit celebrates our furry friends with the intimate canine portraits of James Ruby and the subtle and the endearing dog sculptures of Sharon Sheinbart.  Both artists capture the nobility, intelligence and charm of these incredible animals.  River Gallery will host a food & supply drive for the Friends of the Cleveland Kennel on Saturday, March 23rd.  Drop off your donations of canned or dry food and treats, towels or blankets at the gallery 12-7pm.  Mitchell Sotka will be hosting a trunk show benefit for the Friends of the Cleveland Kennel with artist Gai Russo and red i jewelry on Friday, March 22, 5-7pm and Saturday, March 23, 11-7pm.

This year’s exhibition includes over 100 works (Some NOC Members!)  “created by women, of women and about women” using almost every media and technique imaginable.
