7.24-25

7. 24
Cleveland Print Room (in Artcraft Building), 2550 Superior Ave, Suite 102, Cleveland, 216.401.5981  “Destruction of Form.”  Opening 5-9pm. Destruction of Form isn’t about new or found photography — it’s about deconstructing one piece of art and creating another. This exhibition & collaboration by Shari Wilkins and American Emotionalist artist  John W. Carlson, brought to you by the Cleveland Print Room, challenges viewers’ perceptions by altering the photographers’ original intent.  “We’ve altered the original photograph’s premise,” said Carlson. “It may be presumptuous of me to know the purpose of the photo, but when the premise of the photo is destroyed it becomes an entirely new piece of art. A lot of this is about perception.”
