Transformer Station, 1460 W.29th Street, CLE www.transformerstation.org “Death Knell.”  Opening 7-9pm. The Cleveland Museum of Art takes over the Transformer Station for its fall shows, with solo shows by northeast Ohio artists Scott Olson and Jerry Birchfield, and a collaboration between Liz Roberts and Henry Ross called Death Knell.

Museum of Contemporary Art, 11400 Euclid Ave., CLE 216.421.8671, www.mocacleveland.org “José Carlos Diaz Gallery Talk.”  7pm. For artists, different perspectives and outside opinions can be helpful in assessing how their work fits into the current concerns and trends in the art world. That’s what drives MOCA Cleveland’s visiting curator talks.  This week, they’ll be presenting José Carlos Diaz, who is chief curator at Pittsburgh’s Andy Warhol Museum. He was named one of the country’s 20 Most Influential Young Curators by Artsy and is working on the first museum solo exhibition by Iran’s mixed-media pop-influenced Farhad Moshiri.
