Destruction of Form isn’t about new or found photography — it’s about deconstructing one piece of art and creating another. This exhibition & collaboration by Shari Wilkins and American Emotionalist artist  John W. Carlson, brought to you by the Cleveland Print Room, challenges viewers’ perceptions by altering the photographers’ original intent.  “We’ve altered the original photograph’s premise,” said Carlson. “It may be presumptuous of me to know the purpose of the photo, but when the premise of the photo is destroyed it becomes an entirely new piece of art. A lot of this is about perception.”

Opening at e11even two gallery at 78^th!  “Cleveland Artists Lonely art Club Show.” We will premiere a huge collaboration piece by 33 local artists celebrating The Beatles and their Sgt. Pepper era. The final piece is enormous in size and an absolute visual treat. On top of the main attraction each participating artist created a second piece inspired by a different track off of the Sgt. Pepper album. Another reason to come down will be to see the grand opening of our new expansion gallery. E11even 2 just became that much bigger! Cleveland-based photographer Brandon Juhasz takes on the online world’s re-contextualization of photography and real life in IRL, opening at the Maria Neil Art Project on Waterloo. The artists are Cleveland Institute of Art graduates Katy Richards and Nikki Woods, who have been on HEDGE Art Gallery director Hilary D. Gent’s radar for four years. Featuring work by NOC’s Own Stephanie Craig.  (Image Above.)  View outstanding, small three-dimensional work by artists of the region in the Sculpture Center’s juried exhibition, After the Pedestal, the 8th Exhibition of Small Sculpture from the Region. Prominent sound and installation artist Johnny Coleman [pictured] of Oberlin has chosen 30 pieces by 17 sculptors and one collaboration from a diverse pool of applicants.  Coleman says on the sculptures, “In reflecting upon the work selected, an open weave of recurrent themes began to emerge: the exploration of place/dwelling and memory, alongside of interior/intuitive spaces of the mind. I continue to look to, and learn from these artists and their work. I am excited to be immersed within an artistic region as rich as this.”
