A benefit exhibit at Harris Stanton Gallery to raise money so Marvin's family can archive his work at AAWR. At the Closing party $50 donations will get you a $250 print. Lakeland Community College 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland, OH 44094, 440.525.7029  “Sisters in Art.”  Opening Reception 6-8pm. “Sisters in Art” was formed in 2007 as a group of 15 professional women artists from Summit, Cuyahoga, Medina & Portage counties showcasing classical and contemporary painting styles. Their mission is to further the creative efforts of women artists in Northeast Ohio. This exhibition features 97 original award winning works of oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, graphite and mixed media.

Downtown Lakewood on Detroit Avenue.   “LakewoodArts Fest.” Open 10-6pm. For over 30 years the Lakewood Arts Festival has brought national artists to the street of Lakewood. This year expect to see 160+ artists lined up on Detroit Ave. offering everything from ceramics to paintings and anything in between. There will also be music — courtesy of Lonesome Bones, Erie Heights Brass Ensemble and others; pottery making, printmaking and jewelry making demos; a drum circle; and comedy from Something Dada.  http://lakewoodartsfest.org   Featuring work by NOC’s Own Bette Drake (Image Above), Yumiko Goto, Andrea LeBlond, and Ikuko Miklowski!

Maria Neil Art Project, 15813 Waterloo Rd. Cleveland, www.marianeilartproject.org, 216.481.7722 “Laila Voss and Bruce Edwards.” Reception with the artists will be held from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm.  Laila and Bruce share more than just their lives together as husband and wife, also share a passion for creating incredible art – together and separately. While they have frequently collaborated, they also create their own very unique and individual work – often working in very divergent media and concepts.  Convergence/Divergence will highlight some of these similarities and differences. Gallery hours are every Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5:00 pm with other hours by appointment.
