The Art Bar series at Worthington Yards gives art lovers a chance to get up close and personal with artists and learn about how they work and what inspired them.  The next edition will focus on designers. Sandusky Cultural Center, 2130 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky 419.625.1188  www.sanduskyculturalcenter.org  “Cleveland Artifact Machine.”  Opening 1-4pm.  Featuring the work of 22 artists including NOC’s own Mark Yasenchack. The C.A.M. is a restored 1960’s National cigarette machine that now dispenses artwork instead of cigarettes. Created by artist R!ch Cihlar, the C.A.M. will house 22 artists and dispense artwork for $10 each.  The creations have come in all forms of art: painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media and more.  Guests will also receive a commemorative C.A.M. coin for their participation.

(This year’s benefits a scholarship at the University of Akron’s visual arts program). There will be more that 80 pieces by international and regional artists available to bid on at the gallery including painting, prints, jewelry, glass and ceramics.  Bidding opens Thu 4/5 and closes on Thu 4/12 @ 5:30-8:30pm with a vodka-themed party at the gallery with a $15 admission. Pieces can be viewed at the gallery from Tue-Fri @ 10:30am-5:30pm and Sat @ 10am-4pm. Some of the pieces will also be viewable online.

Waterloo Arts, 15605 Waterloo Rd., CLE 216.692.9500 artscollinwood.org  “Stephen Cup- Breaking Point.”  Opening 6-9pm. Pittsburgh-born, New York-based artist Stephen Cup’s cartoon-like graphic illustrations address complex and serious issues: “How are we maneuvering through the emotional landscape created by our current government?  Are we plodding by, perpetuating the status quo? Or are we actively engaging ourselves and community by generating change?”  His exhibit, Breaking Point, opening at Waterloo Arts during Walk All Over Waterloo, looks at the divisiveness and instability of our current times in vivid, confrontational images. ArtNeo, 1305 West 80th Street #016, CLE  “Gloria Plevin Talk and Show.”  Talk 2 pm. Northeast Ohio artist Gloria Plevin, who works in pastels, acrylics and watercolors, paints intimate scenes of daily life influenced by Impressionism. Her 50-year output includes landscapes, gardens and glimpses of people at home doing famliar things: reading, playing games, relaxing in a comfortable chair. A retrospective of her work is currently on display.  Gallerist/curator William Busta will host a talk with the 83-year-old artist at ARTneo. It’s free and open to the public.
