Novelty, Ohio  44072  Novelty is Russell Township 440-338-6219  “Ornament making party!!!”  Open studio on Wednesday December 4th and 11th from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m.  Make an ornament to hang on your tree or from your car mirror.  Cookie cutter shapes will be available for you to make your ornaments or bring your own.  Cut Carve and Glaze will be the theme.  Make the ornament on December 4th.  Glaze the ornament on December 11th.  Pick up on December 18th.  Fee is $55.00.  Can’t make both nights????  For $35.00 stop by on the 11th and glaze 5 pre made ornaments.  Depending on how quickly you glaze, additional ornaments will be available to purchase for those who want to glaze more (cost will vary depending on ornament).  Pick up will be on December 18th. Stocker Arts Center (LCCC) 1005 N ABbe Road, Elyria, OH 44035.  “Radius: An Artist Sketchbook Project.”  Opening 4:30pm. Want to see into an artist’s soul? Don’t just look at their finished pieces of art work — the real stuff lies in their sketchbooks.  Sketchbooks are repositories for quick drawings, random thoughts and odd cartoons. It’s the place to brainstorm, to creatively solve problems. But they’re mostly private — until now. Lorain County Community College presents Radius: An Artist Sketchbook Project featuring the sketchbooks of a dozen Northeast Ohio artists, including Lorain native Bob Cutlip.

Wasmer Gallery-Ursuline.  2550 Lander Road, Cleveland.  “Winter Art Invitational: 13 Artists & @UnivofDayton’s Crèche Collection.”  Opening 5pm. This Friday, Ursuline College presents The Winter Art Invitational featuring the University of Dayton International Crèche Collection.  The exhibition features 13 regional artists and more than 50 crèches (Christmas nativity scenes).  The University of Dayton’s Marian Library/International Marian Research Institute holds the largest collection of printed material on the Virgin Mary in the world – as well as nearly 3,000 crèches from around the world.  The crèches range in styles and designs, reflecting the diverse cultures of the Americas, Africa, Asia and Europe.
