Kent State University Art Gallery, Terrace Drive, Kent.  330.672.7853. “Janet Koplos Lecture.”  Art Building, room 202.  Renowned art critic Janet Koplos will give a lecture at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, in room 202 of the Art Building. Ms. Koplos was a senior editor at Art in America from 1990–2009, and has written over 2,500 articles, reviews, essays and chapters since 1976. She is the author of several books, including "Makers: A History of American Studio Craft" (2010) with co-author Bruce Metcalf.

Museum of Contemporary Art, 11400 Euclid Ave., Cleveland 216.421.8671, www.mocacleveland.org  I am very happy to invite you an upcoming roundtable discussion on contemporary ceramics, happening this weekend!  MOCA's public program, Concerning Clay, will use the exhibition Kirk Mangus: Things Love as a springboard to explore current issues and ideas on ceramic media in contemporary art. Noted art critic and historian, Janet Koplos, senior editor of Art in America from 1990-2009, will open the conversation with a "state of the field" address. Other participants include William Brouillard, Chair of Ceramics, Cleveland Institute of Art, Eva Kwong, Chair of Ceramics, Kent State University, Anders Ruhwald, Head of Ceramics, Cranbrook Academy of Art and Anderson Turner, Director of Galleries at Kent State University School of Art.  This program will take place this Saturday, November 22 from 1-2.30pm,The event is FREE for: students, MOCA Cleveland members, children 5 and under, Active Military and Veterans. For all other guests, Museum Admission ($8 general/$6 senior) includes attendance at the panel.
