2731 Prospect, 2731 Prospect Ave., Cleveland 216.298.9071  “Emerge:  New Photography CLE and Familiars.”  Opening 6-9PM.  The latest pair of shows at the 2731 Prospect Gallery introduce Clevelanders to some new talent. Emerge: New Photography CLE features work by three photographers, who are starting to get national and even international attention, Jacob Koestler, Amelia Maslen and Dale Rothenberg.   The other show, Familiars, features the hand-sewn and embroidered soft sculpture of San Francisco artist Lauren DiCioccio. The photographers will participate in a panel discussion at the gallery at 7pm Tue 5/17, moderated by curator/collector/artist Laura Ruth Bidwell and artist/educator Joseph Minek.

Working in graphite on film, Ayala's new series of work reflects her interest in the relationship between food, medicine and nature. Dave King—gallery committee member and curator—notes, “Linda Ayala's intimate drawings have a sense of wonder and mystery. These highly detailed and sensitive drawings lure you to keep coming back for repeat viewing and when you do, you are rewarded with something new every time.”
